about me

Hi there, looks like you’ve found me!

Welcome to imheatherr (very original, I know), a completely unfiltered, crazy space filled with stories, adventures, and recipes of mine.

As a chronically stressed and hormonal 15 16 17 year old, I’ve always found a sense of peace and happiness making and eating food. Bonus points if the recipe involves surprise ingredients like Diet Coke, protein powder or aquafaba… the more unexpected, the better!

On this blog, you’ll find a range of healthy and nourishing recipes that I’ve found myself returning to time and time again.

Many are sugar-free, high volume desserts, but you’ll also find nourishing recipes that use sugars and natural sweeteners too… From bagels to microwaved keto pancakes, we’ve got a little something for everyone here! I am, however, a firm believer in nourishing the soul as much as the body, because if there’s one thing that years of undereating and then overeating has taught me, it’s that I am happiest eating fresh, whole, and minimally processed foods. Convenience is great, but when I have the time, homemade is the way to go! My Coke Zero addiction indicates otherwise but I’m working on it LOL

Don’t get me wrong though! I do love to indulge in a heavy, dense, brownie once in a while because… well, honestly, life’s too short not to. If only my 15 year old self understood… took me way too long to view food as pockets of flavour, textures, culture, memories and fuel, but hey, I’m here now, aren’t I? Positive vibes only.

But on a daily basis, these Ridiculous Brownies (29 calories apiece) really hit the spot after a blitz in the microwave and drizzled with runny peanut butter. They’re great when you’re craving a lighter snack, or a macro-friendly pan of brownies for breakfast. I think you’d love them too… not that you asked but y’know, just in case you were wondering 😉

Brownies for breakfast, anyone?
When I’m not whipping up healthy meals and desserts in the kitchen,

you’ll most likely find me up in the mountains hiking or skiing! Or zoning out on my exercise mat which I really need to replace soon. Ever since COVID hit, I’ve fallen in love with loooong sunset walks too. And all that moving tends to make me hungry, which brings me back to… you guessed it – food!

yup, that’s me.

Having spent the latter half of my life in Beijing, Chinese food, culture, and architecture also take up a special place in my heart, and I truly can’t wait to share my travels around China on the blog! Hopefully, as the world slowly returns to normal (getting my vaccine shots this summer!), I’ll be able to post more travel content soon 🙂

Elephant riding in Thailand, not China, but thought it was too cute not to share!

Okay, that’s all for now! Remember to keep an eye out for my healthy recipes – you wouldn’t want to miss out on them! Have I mentioned my healthy recipes?

Great catching up, I’ll see you around! 😊
